Master Suite Addition
Martin Custom Construction was commissioned by the owners of this property to design and build a new master suite with many unique custom features. This project included demolition of the existing master suite and reconstruction of a larger suite to accommodate the owner’s needs and house aesthetics.
All aspects of the project, including the foundation, framing and rough-in stages; all mechanical and electrical systems; the design, fabrication, installation, and finishing of all millwork and cabinetry; and the custom tile work in the master bath were managed or performed by MCC. One of the challenges of this project was gaining access to the worksite area because it was surrounded by award winning gardens. Martin Custom Construction was able to overcome this challenge by innovative thinking in getting tools and supplies to the worksite without compromising the garden areas. MCC was also able to keep the existing house weather-tight and fully operational during the entire winter time remodeling process.
Features in the bedroom area include a solid oak cathedral coffered ceiling with beaded beams, 12-16” wide plank white oak flooring, and a 20’ long solid wormy butternut master closet featuring inset 1-3/4” thick, 2-panel, 8’ high raised panel closet doors.
Features in the master bath include a custom vanity, paneled soffit, and paneled closet wall constructed entirely of solid maple; custom tiled shower with built-in stone bench and frameless glass doors; and radiant heat throughout the bathroom.
