Kitchen and First Floor Renovation
All inclusive design and building services were provided by MCC. As with prior jobs, one of the major challenges was the need to have the house fully operational at all times due to the owners occupying the home during the renovation process. Martin Custom Construction was able to accommodate the family with great satisfaction and success during the project.
Another challenge was that the existing house was stucco-cinder block construction and not structurally sound. The front of the house was shored up, and the area of the addition was entirely removed to accommodate the new foundation and wood frame addition. MCC brought in steel beams to accommodate the new 1st floor layout. Once the addition was framed, MCC gutted the existing 1st floor interior and updated it with all new mechanicals and finishes to accommodate the new kitchen layout.
MCC designed and fabricated custom cabinetry to meet the owner's needs and tastes. All cabinetry was constructed of solid maple and featured raised panel doors and cabinetry sides, solid maple dovetailed drawers with custom pullouts and drawer dividers, and a 6 coat glazed finish.
Other features of the project included a custom built staircase; granite countertops and a tiled backsplash; tiled mudroom and laundry area with bead board walls; solid oak flooring; and new exterior siding, windows, and doors.
